Exploiting the process of reverse osmosis desalination it is possible to obtain fresh water and drinking water with low energy consumption. This process eliminates 100% of all the organic pollutants and over 80% of inorganic ones: the result is a water of high purity, with a low dry residue and a total absence of limescale and heavy metals. The use of this process in agriculture includes needs of different nature and features. It may simply be dictated by the need to exploit marine and brackish waters for irrigation and, therefore, to have as main objective that of making them suitable and not harmful to plants, by favoring a perfect and continuous cycle of the photosynthesis. But it can also be directed at control the physical-chemical characteristics of the irrigation water in relation to a specific type of crop, an increasingly common practice in floriculture and in all the crops in the greenhouse.
